George,

Malcolm was reporting from Malmo, Sweden. A theme about lunchtime dance bars to energise city staff.

If I'm not mistaken, does Malcolm not live in Scandinavia?

I seem to remember reading an article which said he went there for treatment - so I guess he is living there.

A Week Without Willcox? How will this thread manage to stay open?

Hopefully it won't.

Does anyone know what's happened to Komla Dumor? I haven't seen him on his early shift for weeks. We've just seen Naga Munchetty instead. What's happened to their fortnightly rota?

Big Komla Dumor is presently shuttling between Shanghai and Africa, filming the next edition of Africa Business Report. He will be back on TWT in a few days.

Martine Dennis filled for him last week.

I happened to hear the end of the 7-8am UKT edition of The World Today on the BBC World Service. As many of you will know Komla has still been a presenter of it on his 'off' weeks. But they announced today that this was his last edition as he is joining BBC World News. So I guess this means he is getting a full time shift and not sharing with Naga. He was quite vague as to what he would be doing.

Dominic Laurie. Was formally a reporter on Working Lunch and then continued as a presenter of the business news on the NC. Haven't seen him around for a while!

He does the business on 5 Live in Salford, and works for VOA (Voice of America) as a Europe reporter in London. He's a freelancer. He works better on radio, IMO. From his appearances on the NC, he always looked a bit uncomfortable.

The handover back to the presenters was very bad! They were talking about something to do with the business, then he stopped talking. Awkward pause for a second or two, Rachel and Simon started talking again and he shouted 'BYE!' and they both started laughing. Obviously not used to the News Channel routine!

From how he was a year or two back, I'd say this is just his style. He had some nice moments with Jon Sopel and Emily Maitlis, but they were often like this. More like Maryam Moshiri in his chemistry with others or, for that matter, Babita Sharma.
