Major problems at the BBC News Channel tonight. Computers seem to be playing up so badly they couldn't get a breakdown caption up. Click fell off the air, came back on, the weather started, fell off the air, they tried to start the news and the presenter wasn't aware he was on air. Eek.

You miss the part where the weather unfroze just in time for a trailer to start playing over it. Now, after a black screen & apology caption, they're playing a RECORDED bulletin with no clock or ticker.

Quite a few problems during Click just now, the News Channel crashed out of Click and into a side shot of Peter Dobbie Talking about the Autocue upstairs. Then back into Click with just audio, followed by the BBC News globe being shown, then audio and video where restored.
Then problems with the weather, and finally problems at the top of the hour. BBC One currently has a fault caption showing. World is showing the recorded bulletin from the last hour.

And we're back, with an apology from Peter Dobbie for "Minor Technical Problems".

Ah, that was fun. Back to normal now.

No harm done, no major faux pas.

Oh look, it's off-topic but I'm just looking for an excuse to share the best combination of mistakes in a single news bulletin ever again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzOvc4XuFNc

Any videos? It seems Studio C of BBC WN is such an accident-prone. Confused

Yeah, it's hard to see how they could have a worse five or so minutes technically than one that includes two programme crashes, a presenter on-air by mistake, a full minute of black 'dead air', a (rather blurry) apology caption and crashing into the middle of a report in an hour-old bulletin as they desperately try to get something on the air.

The only saving graces are that it happened at 2am rather than during the Six/Ten O'Clock News and didn't involve any accidental libel. (Well, that and the fact that the presenter was just checking his notes rather than doing anything embarrasing!)

Was BBC One showing its usual fault caption or a BBC News one? If it's the former, how did that get to air when, presumably, there's nobody in NC1 overnight?

Must have been Mosart malfunctioning, at least the bbc can maybe learn what happened here, luckily this happened at 2am.

This shows that full automation doesn't work as well as semi automation as I've seen plenty of mistakes and failures in Studio C and E - from screens turning off and on again to cameras going mad, where as Studio B (and A) have had barely any mistakes.

Also have we seen Studio K yet?
