As there have been quite a few threads going around relating to N24, I though I'd start a general thread on N24.
There have been a few things that I've noticed recently on N24.
1) Firstly, the Talking Movies promo ad is now done in 16:9 and not 4:3
2) Also, is it me or have the blue lights on the backdrop of the studio become more darker?
I think the Talking Movies promo is actually in 14:9, cropped from 4:3.
It seems to vary - it often goes out 4:3 pillarboxed within a 16:9 frame (i.e. 12P16 - no crop, thick black bars left and right, which means it is postage stamp/floating on BBC One/Two analogue during News 24 simulcasts)
Some nice camera angles & stuff on News 24 this evening with Jane & Simon.
TOTH pan across to Jane standing in the right hand set area, track-cam use, camera behind interviewee's head framing him & Simon. Also a very interesting Iraq briefing and a super-charged FactFile with the virtual screens etc.
The fast spinning globe on the title sequence was used again at 10am, so looks like that is intended, in addition to the subtle changes to the tower and the ticker.
