Yep, these were mooted a few months ago but got delayed.

I'm surprised he's funding another channel. Fundamentally, the reason behind the cuts is money. A dwindling oil price has hit all of the MidEast oil producing nations. However, the price has stabilised in recent weeks and is expected to slowly climb, so this might be the only scaling back of AJ that we actually see.

There's an Al Jazerra English HD channel on 13e also an encrypted distribution channel on the same satellite called AJE NTSC anyone knows what it's showing?

AJE on Freeview was upscaled again this morning, but is back in HD this afternoon, so at least they're resolving the issue a lot faster than usual.

I need to check when it goes upscaled SD that's it's the same on 13e if it isn't happening there then it must be a freeview fault

Al Jazeera English HD is now on Zattoo Switzerland, presumably from 13e.

Doubt it it seems to be a Freeview exclusive.

Just as a follow up to this - I noticed Al Jazeera English HD was upscaled SD on Freeview yesterday evening, so I checked the version on Hotbird 13E and it was still in HD. So, it must be a Freeview-only fault.

Why is Al Jazeera still showing GMT time on their clock?

its an international channel so thats why its GMT, like BBC World News etc.
