Oh dear. We've given you advice, but you seem to have ignored it, and continued doing what you were doing anyway. We told you how to make it more realistic, and you don't seem to have made these changes, and have instead decided to put a laptop and some cups on the table, and then put the Newsnight background on them... Why?

I've just managed to put my finger on what I HATE so much about these studio mocks.

They aren't mocks. They're re-creations. There's no creativity, no input from you, no imagination, no "what-if", no "maybe" etc.

Basically, you've decided to use Asa's webspace to show off that you can draw a picture of something that exists in real life.

Well done you. Also, you display classic young mocker's attitude of not listening when people tell you to stop.

I think you can have a good studio mock/recreation, though. These certainly aren't examples of one, but if the time and effort are there, then they can be quite good.

On top of this, the good studio mocks also experiment with what is already there, and try something different.

This mock certainly isn't a good example, as the mocker hasn't listened to anyone, bar someone who mentioned the colour of the chairs, which is probably easy to change. The studio hasn't even been done that well, and the desk is quite odd, too.

I agree with this. I get you know how to use the program DTV, and well done to you. But I already know what the studio looks like, so showing us a recreation of it is pretty uninteresting.

When I come to the Gallery, I want to look at a new idea and think "yeah it would be fantastic if they used that". It's not to see slightly worse versions of things I've already seen on screen.

Why not come up with a new set idea for Newsnight? BBC Sport? Breakfast?

Just make them good.

Glad it's not just me.

My problem is they aren't even good recreations. I've seen what can be done with Sketch Up, and utilising its full potential these mocks do not. Not even close. They're studio/set recreations in the same way this...

...is an accurate recreation of the on air BBC One style utilising the full might of Photoshop. What's more, their creators tend to have no interest in your views and seem to be posting their efforts purely for the gratification of seeing them live within a forum template. Any criticisms are easily drowned out by MORE SCREENGRABS!

If you are going to simply replicate something with no original thinking attached, it must be nigh on perfectly executed to be worth doing. Otherwise you're left with a cartoon version of something that already exists quite nicely, thank you.

On the subject of the chairs, they're the same as the ones that are used by BBC Sport on the Match of the Day set and Channel 4 news. Not Newsnight.

This is only a minor thing though, does anyone know who makes those chairs by the way?

Actually, I listened to everyone's comments - The Main Desk was made narrower and Changed Shape, I removed the Laptop and Mugs, I made the Light Boxes protrude more, I added the Cup Holders, I added a more realistic backdrop, I edited the baking trays and changed the Colour of the Chairs. So to say I didn't listen is incredibly unfair.

It quite clearly also says Recreation at the top of the page not mocks. Plus Studios like TC7, N6 et cetera are good for What If's and I think it is good to show off what you can do so that you can listen and improve. Some of them like DrewF's Studio Recreations are actually very good and very accurate.

to show off that you can draw a picture of something

To be honest I can't actually see what's on a Radio, so the look doesn't matter.

Well back before you were born, this part of the forum was called the Mocks Thread.... I guess I'm a classicist.

As for attacking my (admittedly, as it turns out, poor) logo mocks using bizarre English, well, that's just pointless.

UPDATE: N6 & N9

I have been working on N8 recently to try and get it more accurate but at the same time have been making recreations of N6 and N9.
