Brilliant! But, there are some spelling mistakes, so go correct them and I'll give you 5 stars.

Hopefully Daniel will tell you where to stick your pompous stars... Thumbs down

I thought the original comment was rather picky, however, this response is unnecessary. It's these sorts of responses and comments that cause some current members to leave and also deters others from joining. These comments may seem harmless enough, but they can upset others.

I'm sorry but I think a response was necessary so the creator of the simulator doesn't become disillusioned and decide to give up on what is the single best contribution to this section of the forum. If I was him and I received rude / blunt / ungrateful comments, along with the barrage of posts nagging for the next update, I'd be tempted to jack it in.

I understand that. Next time, just think about choosing something to say that gives your POV, whilst not upsetting others. Now I think we should all just move on.

Josh has edited his post but it still sounds rude about the stars.

Would it be possible for a double ticker to be added in the next update. http://www.tvlive.website/media/bidtv/2011/pres2.jpg
Along with Bid Plus

And the 'Easy Buy' price graphic.

I absolutely love the latest version and I just think these additions would make it slightly better. I understand that you have already put a lot of effort into this and I respect that you already have more planned for the next update. I hope you will consider these suggestions. Thank you for all the hard work you have put in and we all hope you will continue to put in, as I'm sure I'm not the only person who has spent a ridiculous number of hours on the simulator. We all just want to see this continue to grow.

Once again, thank you for all your effort and all the best wishes for the future.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't replied to your posts sooner - been getting home quite late from work this past couple weeks.

Great job as ever Daniel, nice surprise to see v1.2 Smile

Couple of things if I may,

I suspect the web bidders may be a tad overzealous, especially if you do a megadrop/£1 event - the web bidders (all of which appear to be nameless or new buyers) can pinch all the stock without you ever needing to open the phone lines. This will allow the quantity to fall to 0 and the auction not end until either you exit the auction or open the lines.

Also the "calls placed" on a choice auction only seems capable of going up in multiples of one on a megadrop, as opposed to the other auctions where it can quite easily go up in twos or threes depending on the call volumes. 14 minutes to flog 5000 items at £1 as a 5 choice multi-buy choice or 90 seconds on 1000 items at a £1 as a drop.

Finally a couple of feature suggestions:

It may be beneficial that if we select a graphics set it's appropriate default studio is selected automatically on the next page. This could be a setting in the options however.

I think there could be a better way of presenting the graphics and/or the studio sets rather than vertically scrolling to get to the ones on the bottom. Perhaps a rotating carousel might be an option? ie have the Bid logo and a studio picture next to it and you press the left or right buttons to move to the next studio in that set. This would then reduce the amount of screen space taken up.

Food for thought for you Smile Thank you for the time and effort you put into this, much appreciated and enjoyed Very Happy

Cool, thanks for your comments Neil, will make a note of these Smile

Hey Ewan, glad you're enjoying it! Smile Cool, didn't think of the double tickers - will add that to the list for next update Smile

I think we can all appreciate that you are clearly busy with work. I just want to say that there is no need to feel pressurized to release the next update ASAP. Take your time and make this amazing simulator even better.

Fantastic update as always, Daniel!

I can only spot two issues: the "0905 081" numbers cost 50p and it's set as £1 in the simulator, and the orange arrow bid-up.tv graphics launched in 2002/3. Smile

Do you have plans for the "0906 954" number to become a 75p/minute number instead of a flat 75p charge? Smile

If you implement the old school orange/yellow graphics, I believe the phone number range for that period was 0906 584 00XX - 0906 584 01XX, and was priced at 60p/minute.

Also during this period - there was no "best bidding"; so it was a case of "the price you bid, is the price you pay" - for the sake of calculating profit.

The number definitely was "0906 584 0XXX" for the entire lifetime of the Yellow/Orange graphics. I believe it was also "0906 584 0XXX" at the very beginning of the Orange Arrow graphics - several months before Best Bidding.

Hey guys,

Cool thanks, will sort out the phone charges for next update Smile

Yeah gonna spend some time re-working some of the bidding at some point, so will hopefully get per minute charging and pre-best bidding working.

I started working on a C# class for bidding, I'll get it finished and put it up on github at some point v. soon then link it here once done.
DanielC and Henry1691 gave kudos
