Meridian - 1982

Inspired by Ben's mock, I've had a play around, and come up with an idea of what Meridian might have looked like if it had begun in 1982:

Nice work on the IBA slide, and well done for having a go at an invision mock as well.
I'd be interested to know how the ident formed up (if it had animation that is).

I like it. It's got that 1970s feel to it, which is exactly what TVS had in 1982 as well. Bravo.

Not so sure about the Meridian font.

The sun would have "risen" up from the centre of the screen with the Meridian logo coming in from the opposite direction. Kind of like the Thames ident.

Not an animation wiz I'm afraid.

As for the Meridian logo text, I thought it would give it a bit of a retro feel. I'm more than happy to continue working on these, so thanks for all your kind words so far.

Good choices & design otherwise, and I do like that clock!

The clock was "borrowed" from the Southern flash file on 625.uk.com and edited into the mock. As yet, I haven't got the skills to design my own clock, but I'm hoping to learn soon!

Yes, I just liked the layout!

I've cobbled together clocks in Flash before, albeit only plain 'generated' ones without juddering hands or realistic shading... But I'd say it is possible to get the basics down if you decide to give it a shot.

Really like the new typeface.

I'm not keen on the font on the mock in the first post, but I do think the second mock with the revised font works much better.
