AxG posted:
Name: If GMTV couldn't have the name, then Sky will probably not let Channel 4 have it either.

Logo: I don't like it, nor do I think it's in the right decade, reminds me of the TVAM logo and BBC Breakfast Time logo.

Since I don't have many ideas for a name at the moment , I'm sticking with Sunrise -- If you have any ideas , I'd be grateful ! Wink

Better. Still not great though.

Congrats on making a recognisable logo, but as AxG said it's reminiscent of morning shows from the 80s, rather than the mid-10s.

Layout of the graphics and astons is still chaotic. The name aston needs to be a lot bigger - someone watching on a small screen won't be able to make it out whatsoever.

Channel 4 have holding slides already. The one you've made is a significant step backwards in aesthetics.

Don't use so many fonts! A consistent look is what's required for something like this, and that consists of one font.
Use font weights (e.g. light, semibold) as needed.

One thing you have to remember, as others have said, is: "is this something I could see on TV?". Right now, the answer's a big fat no.

The original posts is one of the worst mocks I've ever seen on this board - and that's saying something!

The second couldn't fail to be an improvement and a better layout, but I think the fact you've just taken the name "Sunrise" shows that there isn't enough thought in the whole thing - it just comes across a bit pointless. These mocks should convince us C4 News having a breakfast show would be a good thing - but they kind of do the opposite.

TV-AM from 1984 rang, it wants its logo back.

Still very powerpoint presentation-esque.
Although I don't care what anyone else say's, the logo rules Cool

An idea if C4 launched a breakfast tv show , like Good Morning Britain or BBC Breakfast.
Since many did not like the previous logo and name , I've just called it Channel 4 Breakfast !
Constructive criticism Thumbs up Thumbs down

Image 1: Again this is taking inspiration from an existing mock. Also it's in Arial, which, to me, is a quick and cheap typeface. The logo is boring.

Image 2: The logo is now in Verdana where is the consistency?

Image 3: -

Image 4: That live bug is not aligned and the spacing is out.

Image 5 & 6: -

Image 7: Don't split the name from the title like that, they need to be together, or else it seems that Project Advisor is interviewer.

Considering that you are using a news story that broke this afternoon, it's clear to see you have spend absolute no time at all on this. A couple of hours at maximum!

You need to get back to the drawing board and think what would look good on TV that currently doesn't exists and suits a breakfast news program for those people who watch the TV for no longer then 10 minutes before heading to work.

Even though this design is seeable on TV, it's still very basic and Arial, well that's a no no.

Tbh, this design is just a copy of coreyhughes.

The fact that the 'Sunrise' logo is not a work of your own, and is infact the logo of a calendar app, Sunrise, is awfully deceptive of you.

People have congratulated you for 'creating' a recognisable logo, comments which you did not set straight, so it is clear that you wished to pass it off as your own.

Thanks for that JK08.

Regarding your latest mock...

It's just a copy of Coreyhughes as BNF said.

The watermark is still on the top right corner of the Title card.

No creativity.

Name strap and clock are both in the wrong places IMO. It just doesn't look right.

There's no creativity and it just wouldn't appear on TV. It's just ugly.

Still a 1/5 from me.

If you want to get more than that, stop, wait and spend more time once you've developed any sense of what looks good.

I've just nearly killed myself laughing. Thanks for setting the record straight JK08.

The newest variation of your mock is again a lot better, but now we've got a lack of decent fonts - Tahoma and Arial *shudder*

The name Breakfast is doable, I guess. Though you have to do something about that title card. If you can't make an original logo that doesn't look like it's from 1986, then try and lay out something decent. Take a look at the normal ITV News, or BBC Breakfast for inspiration.

Experiment with different fonts, branch out from the "built-into-Windows" fonts.

Sort out the name aston! I'm reading it as "Project Advisor Sanjay Rahman" again. Use font weights where you need them, like this:
How it should be posted:
Sanjay Rahman, Project Advisor

Better than the last two tries. Still only worthy of 1 star.
However I do think you're improving. Come back after a few days and have another go.
