London 2012 Ceremony Countdown

Just wondering if anyone has a YouTube link, etc. (July 2012)

This site closed in March 2021 and is now a read-only archive

I really liked the countdown they used for the Opening Ceremony last night, the one with the various stills with numbers in. I'm also trying to find the animation where the camera goes down the Thames, played shortly after the countdown finished. If anybody can find it, I would be very grateful.

Does anybody know what the music is in this film? Sounds familiar, but can't think what it is.

It's based on a remix of The Who's 'Baba O'Riley', called 'The Road Goes on Forever' by High Contrast.

It's a special Olympics mix and judging by twitter, it's being released over the next few weeks under the title 'One Minute to Midnight'.

I recall reading something by David Lowe that seemed to suggest the original idea for the BBC News 24 countdown was something like this before they designed the style that was used.

I might be wrong though.
It was in some interview with a website.

It's a nice track but it's been remixed for the release. The actual broadcast version can't be extracted from that becuase it's not quite the same.
