A bit of a camp request, I know, but just wondering if anyone has got a good quality copy of the theme tune to the BBC's 80s regional cop show, Juliet Bravo?
There's been a ropey mp3 doing the rounds for ages (possibly which originated on TVCream) which sounds a bit like it's coming down a phone line direct from Hartley Police Station. If anyone's got anything nearing CD quality they'd be happy to share, it would make me very happy.
it sounds like it come of an LP, I cant see it being in Stereo, as it was made in 1980.
But records were being released in stereo from the late 1950s, so if it's been available commercially on LP, it almost certainly will have been in stereo, although probably only ever broadcast in mono.

I did some looking for you and found this:
DEREK GOOM * BBC RESL 84 * Stephanie Turner ps * s1 plays NM
Although recorded in 1980 I think 623058 is right about it being in mono - it certainly sounds like mono to me. I guess even though stereo recording technology was well established by then, TV hadn't really caught up with it, so I think many themes from that time were still recorded in mono? Makes me doubt whether there's a better quality version available though ...
Glad to be of help, I have 9gb of TV music stuff and I absolutely hate having crap copies, moreso if they're mono unless I have no other options, going through a phase of buying TV album cassettes and dumping them down to MP3, something resembling CD quality.
