When it comes to the petty and the unmerited, the PRS are bullies, we all know that.
But as far as I understand it, if Zack Lawrence hasn't registered himself as an artist with the PRS, or Forcefield as a piece of music with them, the PRS are not obliged to collect royalties on behalf of him. Similarly they can't collect royalties on unsigned bands/artists' original material. You will still need a PPL licence to publicly perform the music however.
