Current Radio 1 news jingles

Hi,

Bit of a longshot this, but does anyone have the current Radio 1 Newsbeat package they'd be willing to send me?

Have to say, I really like the way they play the Radio 1 jingle in the style of the beginning of the song (same instruments, beat etc.). Very clever and maybe helps you subconsciously know which station you're listening to when you hear those four notes.

Interesting that they're doing yet more remixed Newsbeat themes, seems only recently that they got vamped up again.

Indeed the '1tros' are a great device to get the radio one jingle in your head! The theme was last changed in 2005, although there have been various changes to the voiceovers over the past two years.

If you ever get a chance to listen to Moyles, being a self confessed anorak he often talks about the 1tros/radio 1 jingles whenever new ones are introduced. He himself is coming back with a new jingle package in a few weeks.

I was actually a bit surprised when they didn't update Newsbeat at the beginning of this year. They seem(ed) to be in the habit of refreshing the Newsbeat package annually but obviously decided to stick with the current one for longer as it was so strong. Will be interesting to hear what Music4 come up with because the current one does the job very nicely.

Looking back on this comment after the jingle refresh, it's interesting to see the same tunes go in to a third year, with it being a remix rather than a redo this time: certainly reflects what DAS was saying about them being so strong.

I don't know if they will anymore. They've added the new Chris Moyles Show jingles for January AND the Kilimanjaro ones since they went to air.

Although I do recall them taking a while to upload Newsbeat 07.

Its important to note they only upload 3 or 4 'main' cuts from the newsbeat packages out of 40+ cuts.

It's amazing to think how many cuts there are in jingle packages. I suppose when you listen to the main Newsbeat programme you can hear slightly different ones.
