A BBC Christmas Tape I've only ever seen brief clips of before. I'm guessing it's from 2000?

Including an horrendous blooper from a competition from Good Morning from Anne & Nick which would have had serious repercussions for the BBC nowadays!

I would've thought Christmas Tapes died out by then. Go figure.

The description for the video says it's from 2000, which would make sense as it uses the Christmas presentation from that year. Though presumably the clips with Noel are from 1999, and the Good Morning clips are surely from years earlier.

Your not joking about that ann and nick, it would have been a melt down.

I remember someone making that but I'd not seen it till now (I wasn't missing much!). Incidentally the joke about 'Muppet Schindler's List' comes from Charlie Brooker's website of that time TV Go Home

As the description says, it was an attempt to bring them back. Some places still make Christmas tapes, though usually compilations of outtakes rather than having original content in them

And a Victoria Wood steal, too - "flashing a recipe for flaky pastry..."

A first series episode of The Bill with the original title sequence and the original Overkill theme - who knew the plodding feet originally bookended each episode!

Did want to post the original Woodentop pilot which is (or was) on YouTube but Fremantle blocked it Sad

Strange as Freemantle once posted them all from series 1 + Woodentop.

The plodding feet (Karen England and Paul Page-Hanson) were filmed along Pennington Street, Wapping - outside the former News International plant which is still cobbled to this day. The original Sun Hill being on Artichoke Hill.

It's interesting to note at such an early time their uniforms were provided by the Metropolitan Police and they remained until it ceased the only television programme authorised to use MPS properties such as uniform, and in Woodentop they had no such authority! A fantastic series and in the early days it was (according to my colleagues at least) very realistic and true to life. Such was the commitment of the cast they would spend days at a time shadowing a relief of police officers on a set of shifts to see how things should work. You just wouldn't get that these days (see Cuffs et al).

I struggle to think of The Bill without thinking of the disasterous 2009 revamp, which effectively turned it into a whole different show and killed it off. Basically taking everything that worked about the show and changed it. Even the theme tune.

which includes a follow up report about the police returning stuff back to the BBC over the Zircon affair.
