I'm sure you mean the BBC Breakfast News years are 1989 - 1993, Rob.
Those graphic stings for Sport and Business, must have been very heavy in the mind of Richard Norley and Russell Hilliard as they drew a storyboard for the title sequence for 'The Day Today'

I find it interesting how they made a 'Sport' graphic that doesn't even work with the rest of the package, obscured by the clock.

Still seems a major oversight not to design it to work with a near-permanent on-screen graphic.
^I'd imagine that the clock wasn't supposed to be on screen when that sequence played.

Are you sure this image is on the right page?

It's labelled as an ECP/Digital promo for CBBC 2005-7, but has the previous CBBC logo on it and matches the style of BBC1's 2004-6 promos (and, indeed, is actually from BBC One, as it's from the end of Neighbours).
