I just wonder now if TV Home will follow suit!
Sorry but I won't. Why would TV Home follow Identz? Wink

But in all honesty, the site has been online for 2 years with hardly any problems and I think the copyright is fine as it is.

I'm not being complacent here, I appreciate copyright as much as the next webmaster with a similar site but after a million and one conversations on this down the years on places like MHP, I don't think I'm going to change my way of doing things without legal intervention from a broadcaster.

Besides, I think off-air video clips where time has been taken to video, capture, edit, upload etc.. etc.. (again, that's nothing compared to copyright but I'm just pointing it out) and getting a load of mp3s from a leak at the Beeb are two very different issues. There's no doubt that it is very appreciated these came on the net for people downloading them but do you need to be constantly reminded how great you are for uploading some themes?? I think we should be thanking David Lowe and co.

Cheers, Asa

Well in future, ask DL for all the music you lot love. I'm sorry, but I'll be keeping any new MP3's to myself in future!

Why shouldn't it Jamez?

If TV Room, TV Home or any of the others had decided (like you did) to withdraw their files, you have pulled all yours? Sorry - I doubt it.

Its bad luck you got done but are you saying if you can't have them no one can? Oh yeah, you did say that in the other Identz thread.

Yes! exactly right. Myself and Isonstine went to all the trouble of collecting the files, encoding, uploading, preparing a website etc. so why should another website just have the bloody bare-faced cheek of stealing my MP3's?

If they obtain their files from their own contacts then thats fine, but ripping off Identz content in the cause of feeding your insatiable thirst for clean mp3's then that is completly out of the question, and i'm quite annoyed that some of you are even contemplating this!

for f*cks sake, some of you are like leeches, out to get all you can with not even a utterence of appreiciation!

an email or PM now and again simply saying thanks would be nice, but no.

(there are 2 or 3 of you who have done so though, but there are still 10,000 other people who have downloaded the files!)

I think it's quite obvious many people appreciate what you have done - me for one. I also think it's a shame you won't be letting anyone else listen to your MP3s anymore. You keep going on about a forum being a place to air your views but when some are aimed at you, you seem to take offence very quickly.

Why should any critisism be aimed at me anyway? I'm the one doing you lot the favour, even risking the law!

I'm come to the point where I've decided if you lot want the LDN, BBC World 2002, TWT Specials, you can go find 'em somewhere else!

Jamez,

I just want to say that I to greatly appreciate all the hard work you have put into creating your site. So wouldnt it indeed be a shame for all that hard work to go to waste? Share the wealth!

But honestly, what you have done is fantastic. Unfortunately there will be people who disagree with you, but that's life I'm afraid and I wouldn't take it to heart so much.

Many thanks.

Geez, maybe you didn't get enough begging letters the last time you raised those 'elusive' tunes in the last identz thread.

Put up or shut up Jamez. Or of course you could 'watermark' them so that no one but you gets the full clip. Which broadcaster informed you that this would be satisfactory? Highly dubious.

He has been asked several times to explain who has asked for this to be carried out, yet he always seems to ignore it.

Somehow, I can't imagine how adding that verbal diahorrea would make any difference.  The fact is, and it's blinding clear, that copyright is still being evaded, and in no way makes what your doing legal.  It acknowledges who owns it, but so does a simple comment at the bottom of the page.  Bottom line is you haven't asked permission for it to be available regardless of wheter you say who owns copyright or not.

To me, and others, it's a mere attempt to stop people taking the files and publishing them elsewhere.

When you also stated that others who obtain the music themselves can freely publish it.  So if I publish the music I have obtained myself (including some re-mixes not in your collection I hasten to add, otherwise they would have been boasted about by now) how likely is it that I or another person would be 'slaughtered' on here or elsewhere for apparently 'stealing' 'your' music.

It has also been pointed out that you do work hard for getting the music, and I'm sure myself and others appreciate it, but it seems to me from what you've said previously that you get the MD's to put them online available to others.  Did you think that if the person who sends you these spots your doing so, might stop sending them or send them to someone else?

I'm not saying to remove your site, if anything, I'm glad someone else puts themselves on the line to distribute them to everyone, I am not prepared to take the chance, having witnessed BBC Copyright Clampdown with my own eyes.

I will end on what everyone else I've spoken to has said, and that is in agreement with Gavin about how it's becoming more and more clearer that you're requesting 'begging letters' in an attempt to make yourself seem more important than you actually.

How long is it before the 'required watermark' changes into
'Helloo, I'm Jamez, I'm great' ?

I asked him which broadcaster told him and believe it or not

None of them did. According to him a lawyer from the beeb or something suggested it to him as he was breaking copyright laws.

Either it's made up or this is Jamez' attempt to stop websnatchers stealing his content that he is being selfish over.

Yet again I am misquoted by the lowlife likes of you!

You don't know all the details, so stop pretending you do. What I supposedly tell you in the chatroom isn't necessarily the truth!
