I need some Information on how to register at both Metropol and Digitalspy. The problem is they won't allow my yahoo e-mail address another problem is I registered last night with a different e-mail address which doesn't work. Its a shame because I would like to become a member of both forums so does anyone have any ideas.
Your best bet is to use an e-mail address other than Hotmail or Yahoo. Many forums (including ours IIRC - although I think we only ban Hotmail from memory) ban users from signing up with e-mail addresses from the above providers because they are free, and people use them to post spam, and more importantly, have second usernames, which is banned on many forums.

In other words, next time the forum goes tits up, & you have to register again(It has done in the past, 'cos I've got an e-mail from Asa, when I was having problems registering!), I cannot use Hotmail for my e-mail address.
If I use my ISP address, what happens if you have to change the ISP for some reason, then you have to change it in your profile, then it won't accept for some reason, then I have to bother Asa, to fix it for me, which I shouldn't have to do.(That's why I prefer to give a Hotmail address, so that I don't have to keep fiddling about !)
Plus I can never remember the ISP address, so anybody I give an e-mail address to, I always give them my Hotmail address, 'cos thats the only one I can remember !
Why is it always the certain few that spoil things for everyone else?

Sorry I haven't replied sooner - I've only just read this thread after my last posting. As I remember, it was Asa who made the decision to ban Yahoo and Hotmail address due to the overwhelming number of second usernames and spam that was appearing on the forum. Since this ban was put into place, the number of detected second usernames has decreased and the amount of spam is now, thankfully, virtually nill. I doubt Asa will reconsider the decision, due to the possibility of it starting up again, but it might be worth raising it with him personally. I totally agree with your point that the few always spoil it for the rest. It's just such a shame that we can't trust people not to break the rules of second usernames and spam, and that these measures had to be taken.
