I really want to abandon DS but I don't have a lot of options for an alternative. I like the entertainment news up to a certain point, but DS go way beyond that on a pretty regular basis. And as has been said in this thread, their media coverage is almost unnoticeable.
Completely agree - it used to very much be a broadcast and media website but nowadays it makes the Daily Star look like a broadsheet. It is so poorly written nowadays - half the articles appear unfinished, barely expanding on the headline.
Some of them appear to be cut and paste from press releases.
It's awful though somehow I just can't let the site go as it was the first 'Media' site I used. Old habits...and all that.
I discovered DS on Sept 11th 2001 when looking for presentation discussion about the attacks. I think joined TVF under a different name around the same time.
The DS beta seems to have become the default version of the site now. I'd opted out of it due to the forum link redirecting to the homepage, but that appears to have been fixed.
It's sending me to the standard homepage. I haven't read a single good reaction to the Beta site. It's horrible to look at on a desktop and it's horrible to use on mobiles.
Ever since I deleted the original cookie I have never been sent to the Beta site again. It was horrible. At least with the new Forums you can download Stylish and modify them so they look and feel the same as they used to, but I hope we don't get stuck with that new homepage design. It truly is awful.

It looks like what I reported earlier wasn't intended. The link to go back to the old site was going to the beta site when I posted my earlier message, but now I'm back on the old site, which is much easier to navigate.
