Im sure there used to be a dedicated chatroom on TV Forum but it seems to have disappeared.

There is now a service available called www.gabbly.com and creates an open-ended chat portal for users of any particular website.

Just add the gabbly.com url in the front of any website to give it an instant chatroom!

Try this http://gabbly.com/http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forum/

We can all now chat on TV Forum without any legal stuff from the mods as its totally separate?

There's a big flaw in this - anybody can be anybody and because of *some* of the pricks that frequent these boards people are taking advantage of it...

I think the novelty has already worn off!

You can register your username if you so wish and it will be registered for ALL gabbly chat-arenas.

At least everyone got talking!

Its utterly pointless. You only get trolls and people with nothing to say on there.

What else do you think a chatroom is?

Apart from a 5 minute hieatus - it hasnt really been that bad! Some half decent discussions going on atm!

Well that's my opinion on chatrooms, and I don't think it brings anything to this site.

It's not bad to be honest it can get quiet but it can be decent as well/

Isn't mindless chat what Metropol is for?

Having just had a quick shot on it. I found the interface very likeable.

However it simply does not have a good enough registration system on it. I remember back in the day we chose Darkfire as our IRC network due to it having a rather good registration system. Therefore we knew who imposters were and also it kept out the Andrew Tyne Teeses of the world.

I'd like to see a return of the chatroom, however I'm just not sure it would be as fab as it was in the olden days.

Little message from Asa regarding this chatroom...

Quote:
Please do not use gabbly.com for chat - it installs a virus onto the original website by hacking source locator codes. Please refrain from using chat for the time being. Cheers, Asa
