International News Presentation: Past and Present

Ch7 Australia recently debuted its new set for its morning show which now starts at 5:30am. Its designed by Jack Morton. The new graphics have an NBC TODAY feel about them. (their normal TODAY-esque logo probably adds to that with the new set and updated graphics.)

Seven News also debuted a new set for Seven News Sydney. They also updated their version of NBC's The Mission. It might not last as other previous attempts to update the theme.

Speaking of Australian morning shows and Today, here is a fragment of ATN-7's Today from 1959 (no direct relation to the present-day Today, which airs on the Nine Network, except of course for the fact that they were both named after NBC's Today ):

This version of the theme is much better than what they used before. I really like it, but then again, I have a soft spot for dramatic, orchestral themes, which are getting rare these days.

Sorry, bring back the old music.

ATV in Hong Kong has ended ALL of newscasts in February 5. However they launched new look on January 2016.
ATV's free TV licence would be expired in April 1, 2016.
