And someone probably made a few thousand quid from that change.
I thought Sky had an in-house team for this sort of thing? Either way, this is the company that changed their corporate logo *ever so slightly* 5 or so years ago. It's a nice little evolution.
I don't know if this has been discussed here but I saw some programme trails for the Spanish versions of Sky Sports and Sky One on Mexican TV while I was over there. The branding is the same as over here I think and their Sky One broadcasts the Today Show on the channel in the mornings.
I apologize if I didn't say this back in 2004 (I didn't visit the forums back then) but did I think the old glass Sky logo looks weird on screen than on paper? Is it just me?
Not liking the mixture of 2 fonts. You can see the difference between them and if Sky are using their custom font for all their branding, why is Sky Sports the exception?
Well, they use the same Sky font and just have one or two characters modified to suit, namely the M in Movies and the V and G in Living.
Again, I don't even see why those are needed. And Sports is still in the old font but with the characters modified to make the ends round like the current font. I don't know why that was decided as a better course of action instead of just using the new font completely. It would have been a lot less work for whoever designed it!
