Austria's ORF2 has refreshed its "Zeit im Bild" (ZIB) newscasts. You can watch bulletins on the orf.at website, but this YouTube clip shows one of their 9am bulletins.



To be honest, I'm not convinced it's an improvement.

(And, for completeness, ZIB 20/24/Flash/Magazin on ORF1 remain unchanged.)

Oh gross. It had such a classical simplicity before. Those L3s are especially bad, dated and overwrought.

I also liked the old look better. For comparison, here is a clip of the same 9 a.m. edition from a few days before the refresh:

Jeez, the new look is like a bad mock. I agree the old look is better!

Miles better. And that intro is so depressing - hear that and it's the cue to switch over.
