Rare footage there of Donna Air actually making a funny joke. Those titles were great as was the theme (still feels quite modern today), but don't know what they were thinking with the logo. Although the "bb" one was OK, the full text logo just looked awful and I'm sure the titles could have been tweaked to include a small version of the traditional logo instead.
Did like the idea for the end credits, but the text would have been better on the footage rather than the animations.
The Donna Air joke was highly likely to have been scripted. The titles were slick but too dark. A brighter/warmer palette would have worked better. There's no way the traditional logo could have worked alongside the 'b' design.
One thing those Relaunch Day 2 clips prove is that Amanda was by far the most competent presenter out of the three, but unfortunately she was less comfortable as the show returned to its old style.
The 2001 relaunch really should have had more time to breathe, but I think it was stillborn when they decided to relaunch using a watered down Johnny Vaughan clone as host. If they were going to go slick and trendy, they really should have had a good looking, likable guy who could host alongside Amanda.
And while we're at it, looking back at later eps, how awful was Lisa Rogers at hosting the show! At the time I thought she was pretty good but it just shows how time can change everything.
