That handover was really emotional indeed.

The EBU were quick to issue this press release:

Now there are reports that ERT transmitters around the country have been closed down in the middle of the broadcast. Apparently they didn't even get to say goodbye properly.

Edit: This livestream still works: http://www.thepressproject.gr/live/44219/Louketo-stin-ERT

The unions have vowed to keep the channels, both TV (three terestrial and one satellite), as well as EPTs radio networks on air, though they haven't specified how.

As I write this, the channels will all be off air (scheduled) in 53 minutes time.

Being discussed here - http://www.tvforum.co.uk/thenewsroom/ert-state-broadcaster-closing-39284/ - this is quite a big story, definitely deserves it's own thread.

Some studio shots taken from the end of tonights ARTE Journal (which was broadcast online on a special stream as it was being shown in Greek).

Anyways at the end of the broadcast instead of cutting to the usual filler, it showed what happens after the bulletin finishes, such as the studio monitors showing the Windows 7 shutdown sequence:

TVB's idents have been variations on the same theme since 2006 - flying lines/ribbons of the station colours forming the logo, with even the same music. Which is similar to the path Australia's Nine Network took before it suffered a decline in the 2000s. Sadly, while TVB's programming has taken a nosedive in recent years, Hong Kongers are left with virtually no choice of free TV. (The only other FTA station in Hong Kong is the perpetually weak ATV, which is notorious for its lack of in-house Cantonese programming, an increasingly brazen pro-Beijing stance in news and current affairs, and probably infamous here for ripping off YouTuber mdtauk's BBC News mocks for on-air use.)

It was design by Limefires Media.

SBT is celebrating its 32nd anniversary today, so, following the tradition, they got a new graphics package yesterday, though this year it's a refresh of last year's package, keeping the slogan "#Compartilhe" (though the official hashtag for the campaign is actually #SBTCompartilhe).

First, the image promo, based on the idea of "sharing with something else", taking the word "com" ("with", in Portuguese) from the word "compartilhe" ("share"):

Now, the refreshed promos:

And, as a bonus, an image promo from last March, straight from SBT's own YouTube channel:

Next week RTL4, the main commercial channel in The Netherlands, will relaunch. The new logo, an orange 4, is clearly inspired by..., you'll see it for yourself. Wink

The RTL Nieuws will be refreshed by 2014, so was announced on the same day by RTL Nederland.
