Rob, can you please do pictures of mock Meridian presentation from 1987 (when its logo went CGI).

I don't tend to take requests for new mocks, but I'll see what I can conjure up over the weekend.

Quick question. How did you know that the logo went CGI? Maybe it didn't... Laughing

Well Meridian went into administration in 1989 just before the franchise round and viewers in the South and South East were treated to a black screen for 3 years before Carlton won the contract....

Seeing as this is a 'WikiStory' thought I'd add my own contribution!

Love these mocks (Ben and Rob's) and it's nice to see a bit of change to the usual Daybreak, GMTV and BBC News carp these forums are filled with!

... and when they came back on air, we were treated to 15 minutes of test card music and a very horrible sounding announcer.

Must stop thinking about cwilliams1976...

How did ('{') MERIDIAN Broadcasting adopt the I T V Regional Tax System? Was it worked out per viewer capita or via a complex coefficient with neighbouring TSW (short for Television South West), thereby forging a South "Super-Region"?

I expect this to be explained thoroughly with a doctored next slide and some music. Thank you.

If I had the attention and time I would! I'd even do an impression....

I'd have a go as well, and it would be good timing as I have a stinking cold. However, my microphone is broken.

Oh, and I might add some new images tomorrow.

Looks more like the Mac OS logo.

Meridian took the 1989 generic look. Here's how it looked:

Still working on a 1987 ident package, will try and get something online this weekend.

To accompany the 1989 images, here's a video. Credit to Mike W for this.
