They were great titles - first time around, but now they've been using basically the same format for four years they're a little tired IMO.

Here's an extended 1979 ident for ITV... the other ITV:

If you like TV logos, here's more than 50 of them. Most are 'international', and all of them were revealed or launched this year.

ORTF 2 (later Antenne 2, now France 2), late '60s / early '70s? ident:

ORTF2, or La deuxième chaîne, started broadcasting in colour 1967, and was replaced by Antenne 2 in 1975 when ORTF was abolished. So the intro above should have been used for some period between 1967 and 1975.

Here are three other "deuxième chaîne" intros from 1960s era.

RTF 2 launched in 1963. This is probably the channel's first intro:

When RTF became ORTF in 1964, the intro was edited accordingly:

Here's another intro. Its in colour, and uses an animation similar to the first two, but has different music for some reason.

Cinemax in the United States has a new look.

This is how they used to look:

Pretty drastic change. Unfortunately, the colour scheme reminds me of Setanta Sports and ITV1.

It appears that the TMF brand is about be killed off in the Netherlands, the country where it first launched in 1995.

The demise started earlier this year, when its analogue channel space was taken over by Comedy Central/Kindernet. On September 1, TMF and its digital offshoots (TMF NL, TMF Pure and TMF Dance) are closed down. In their place come the new music channel MTV Music 24. Its weird that they are just closing down the channels and not taking the opportunity to rebrand them as MTV channels.

MTV Networks are also introducing Comedy Central Extra in the Netherlands, making this market the only one to have three different versions of Comedy Central.

I don't know if they still had it but their glass look was superb across their portfolio of channels - some of the best international presentation I've seen.

A few cable operators in the Netherlands do actually provide MTV Base and MTV Dance, which are quite similar to TMF Pure and (of course) TMF Dance.
MTV Networks NL did confirm that MTV Music24 will take TMF NL's place on the several EPG's. So I guess it makes more sense for them to use the TMF Pure and TMF Dance feeds to launch the new Comedy Central Extra and MTV Live channels.

Funnily enough UPC (one of the biggest cable providers in the country) will be sticking relatively new (and virtually unknown) music channel Xite on channel 601 (i.e. TMF's old spot). That's like Sky putting that WTF channel on 350 here. Confused

The European versions of Cinemax are still using the old logo.

(example: Cinemax Slovenia)
