Anyone see the new promo on Channel 4?

It's the 1982 ident complete with Fourscore just with green block smashing out of the TV it's being shown in.

I think this must be a teaser for its 3D TV season coming soon. Still nice to see it back in another shape and form.

They just aired both of the promos so far at either side of the 6.30 break:-

Nice promos... but why the 80's theme?

I'm guessing because the last time 3D TV happened properly was probably in the 1980's, but you never know, I'm not complaining like, good to see Channel 4 not forgetting about the coloured blocks.

I do like the Four Score / A-Ha: Take On Me mix they've got going on that promo.

Quite, it's nice seeing them acknowledging the past again.

There's little 80's - 3D connection though. 3D was originally a 70's gimmick and there have been many 3D seasons on TV, the most recent I can remember is the one for Children in Need in the 90's

The 80s are very trendy at the moment.

Also, coincidentally, it's the week of Four's 27th birthday.

The first time 3D TV pictures were broadcast in the UK was in the 1980s.
