BT is now developing a revamp of the YouView service it provides, with a new onscreen TV guide and a new BT TV app.

Would this roll out to TalkTalk boxes too?

I hope they don't mess it up. I have a YouView box (without BT Broadband anymore) so just use as a PVR. It's a solid system I find.

Presumably this change will be co-ordinated with the Platform and ISP Cofiguration variables, found under System Information / Software Versions in Settings.

TalkTalk's also upgrading their UI as well - the TalkTalk Player is now called More TV.

So it's a generic YouView upgrade at its core, these announcements really seem to show who's in the driving seat.

TalkTalk's upgraded YouView UI is being rolled out from Monday - ahead of the BT upgrade in 2017.
All YouView boxes, be it BT, TalkTalk and retail will be upgraded and HTML5 is being used instead of Flash. Owners of Sony TVs will be the only ones left out.

From what I've seen it's much more slicker compared to the old UI, and I'm happy to see that the Guide layout has been retained. Very Happy
