Interesting to see that BBC America is still using the 1997 strip style logo in their presentation http://www.bbcamerica.com/

Huh, I don't watch the channel often but this appears new. An episode of Top Gear is playing from 2009 - I'm not sure which but it appears to be a race between a blimp and a Lamborghini. The blimps landing or passing Norwich International and they're making a big deal about the blimp being uncontrollable over the runway showing it passing a jet. Of course they make it all dramatic like there was serious danger but they showed its wheels very visibly chocked.

The thing to remember about Top Gear is that it is an entertainment programme (made by the BBC's Entertainment and Events division) not a Factual programme...

Take everything you see with a very large pinch of salt.

Indeed. When the trio were in Albania, they even "robbed" a bank! (The situation was obviously a made-up: you can't have a POV from police vehicle tyre in an urgent situation like that!)

Isn't that half the content of US local news?

They've been using the 'stacked' version for well over 10 years, this is new/not new.

Are they still using the circle idents?

Nope, they ditched those ages ago. That promo you saw is the current on-air look.

Looks like Starz and Encore in the US are rebranding. The Encore channels will now be called Starz Encore.

The moment all the ATV channels in Hong Kong shut down, as the company had their license revoked.

RTHK's coverage as shown on RTHK TV 31. The public broadcaster took over ATV's analogue channels, and launched the simulcast channels of TV 31 (Cantonese) and TV 33 (which relays CCTV's documentary channel in English 24/7).

The moment as shown on RTHK TV 32, the channel for live events: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSN4_0hHJ0k

Coverage from Now News Channel, operated by Now TV IPTV platform. Now TV's owner, PCCW, also owns HKTVE which runs free-to-air Cantonese channel ViuTV. It began airing on DTT shortly after ATV Home (Cantonese) and ATV World (English) were removed from a digital multiplex.

An ATV channel in the Americas was also shut down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig1OrSWL7Jk

The transition from ATV Home to RTHK TV 31 on analogue, recorded from camera off the telly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifz2RdCuYpY

There are footages properly recorded from both analogue channels uploaded on YouTube (ATV Home, ATV World), but alas, ATV have blocked them outright.

Why was anyone in the office to report that? Their licence is revoked, their channels are off air - the company is finished.

ATV, the oldest television broadcaster in Hong Kong (before the rival TVB came in), and also one of the last remaining companies of Rediffusion, has dramatically suffered in recent years (especially after Wang Zheng, an investor from mainland China, stepped in).

As I wrote earlier, the company plans to 'move online'.
